Trainer Spotlight: Christina

What inspires you to teach fitness or yoga and how did you get started?

I found my way to yoga as a way to relieve work stress. I was burning out and needed to slow down, but didn't know how. The physical challenge is what got me in the door and the deeper connection to my inner self has kept me practicing for over 10 years. Through deep breathing, physical movement and mental focus, we realize how we're actually feeling and can figure out what we need to feel whole and balanced in the moment.

Favorite healthy snack:

I love avocados. I put them onto and into so many things. I've also been know to eat them straight up with a spoon!

Favorite cheat food:

Ice cream.

What are your interests and passions when not teaching fitness/yoga?

I've always enjoyed traveling and over the past few years I've fallen in love with hiking. I love to explore new places and try to experience nature while I'm there.

What are your hopes for your class participants?

I hope to create a space where people can get what they need to bring balance into their day. Some people want to feel challenged while others are looking to slow down the hectic pace of work. I do my best to offer opportunities for both. I'm inspired to show people the tools they have inside to support their own health and well-being.

What is unique or special about teaching in a workplace environment?

I think it's common for people to be in "work mode" and not give much consideration to their wellbeing. Our physical and mental health often take a backseat to life's demands. It's such a gift to take time for ourselves during to work day to recharge our energy, move our bodies and clear our heads for a bit. Most people leave feeling more focused, less reactive and better equipped to face the day.
